Yes. We have several graduates who have gone on to launch very successful private practices, both cash-based and insurance-based, or that successfully integrated this method into their existing practice without needing to go out on their own. We will be glad to put connect folks with some of our graduates directly if preferred!

This program is for all practitioners – in-person, telehealth, group therapy leaders AND cash-based OR insurance-based practitioners. We help nurture all of these entry points in the healthcare system!
Can I use Medical Therapeutic Yoga in yoga teaching and yoga therapy work? Also what are the credentials I earn?
Yes! This program prepares licensed therapists to be a Lifestyle Medicine practitioner and Professional Yoga Therapist, which means graduates are well versed in Lifestyle, Functional, and Integrative Medicine. The Professional Yoga Therapist (PYT) credential can be used upon graduation (PYT-c is used prior), and also teach and use MTY not just as yoga therapy but also in general yoga teaching. The program prepares folks to teach at all levels as well as use MTY as a licensed therapist.
How will this program improve my self-care?
This program teaches you comprehensive self-care on 3 levels: Functional Medicine (discovering the root cause of dysfunction, disease, and pain), Lifestyle Medicine (implementing changes to minimize chronic disease and pain risk or to treat it), and Integrative Medicine (using mindful movement and breathwork, as well as meditation and mindfulness as a lifestyle change).
How is this program COVID and trauma-informed?
Respiratory, vocal, movement, and visceral techniques are the hallmark of vagal tone regulation and management of the vagal brake mechanism as defined by Stephen Porges. Our program comprehensively prepares you to address issues that those struggling with COVID and trauma will present with whether it is in-person, telehealth, or group based therapy.
I don’t want to be a yoga expert or lifestyle expert, I just want to use this with my existing patient populations. Can I do that?
Yes! A therapist doesn’t have to become a solo practitioner or private practice owner or studio owner to use this information. Many of our graduates take the new skillset right back into their existing practice. It will also help expand folks’ network in the community to learn how to appropriately vet or refer to other yoga teachers or lifestyle coaches.
