MTY for Young Adults Aging out of Foster Care was the title and initial intention of this project. Functional Movement Screen comparison to the PYT Functional Movement Assessment was considered. The instruction of yoga grew to include nutrition and cooking with more of an emphasis on the latter than initially thought or intended. There were demonstrable shifts in the participants' food choices and health behaviors following instruction in all areas.

Completing this project was both rewarding and frustrating. I was frustrated that we did not get to pursue more of the actual yoga instruction as I felt it truly had potential to further help this population. I was rewarded by their interest in and action upon the nutrition and cooking instruction they received. By remaining open to the changing priorities of the staff as they monitored the youth's response, I was able to provide what they could best act on in the moment and to trust that their exposure to the yoga (how ever minimal) might still be acting in the backdrop to aid them in their thoughts and actions.
