This project includes an outline of steps to take when starting a cash-based MTY business as well as examples of patient forms to use for legal and documenting purposes. The forms were a conglomeration of different forms I have seen, from Ginger's examples and others' I have reviewed. I modified them for my particular business model, which is a home-based MTY practice. This is simply a starting point and I am sure I will continue to modify these forms as experience dictates. This project also includes Ayurvedic patient handouts that summarize the Vata, Pitta and Kapha doshas as taught in the PYTI method. The forms highlight the signs/symptoms of dosha excess and offer suggestions through food and daily practice to find balance. There is also a patient handout summarizing Upper Extremity Marma Point Massage. This handout outlines how to perform the massage, where to find the specific marma points and lists the possible therapeutic benefits. These are the forms I will be using to launch my own cash-based MTY business in the fall of 2016.
This project helped me organize the required paperwork for running a cash-based MTY practice on a progressional level. It helped me think through the legal aspects of running a business as well as how to thoroughly document MTY patient care from initial eval through discharge. Summarizing some of the PYTI Ayurvedic teachings into patient handouts was helpful, not only for future patients, but for me to more thoroughly understand and present the subject matter on a practical level. I am thrilled to launch my MTY business this fall and look forward to reporting the impact of finally living out my dharma...in a manner I only dreamed about for years. Thank you for this training and for the opportunity to offer a service that taps into the wonderous healing potential of the human body...embracing, and no longer ignoring, the intricate dance between the mind, body and spirit.
