Patricia Staszak on the Impact of Professional Yoga Therapy

Patricia Staszak, PT, PYT Reflects on How PYT Has Shaped Her Practice

One of PYTI’s esteemed graduates, Patricia Staszak, PT, PYT, shares in her Body Wellness Blog how Professional Yoga Therapy (PYT) has influenced her Chicago, IL practice. Patricia is an orthopedic physical therapist with twenty years of experience. She owns Andersonville Physical Therapy that specializes in orthopedics, general rehabilitation, and pelvic physical therapy. She and her team use a number of modalities to teach movement and focus on Medical Therapeutic Yoga (MTY) to partner in healing the whole person.

Read Patricia’s inspiring blog post “What Professional Yoga Therapy Has Meant to My Physical Therapy Practice.” She shares how MTY and PYT have influenced her clinical practice and transformed her own personal practice.

MTY certainly did not disappoint. There is so much to respect in this innovative curriculum, from the sheer breadth of information covered to the vast amounts of current research cited in each module to support this approach. And in MTY I found the vocabulary I’d been searching for: yoga poses and principles are taught with clear, consistent language that is based on biomedical science and empirical evidence.”

We praise Patricia for all the fantastic work she and her team are doing and for sharing such a reflective and comprehensive account of what PYT means to her practice!
